When They Learn to Fast, We Learn to Lead
This week, we watched little ones try.
Some woke up excited for sahur.
Some asked, “Is it time to buka yet?”
Some felt tired.
Some felt proud.
And in those small moments, we saw something bigger than hunger.
We saw self-control.
We saw sincerity.
We saw children choosing to try — for Allah.
And as they try — so should we.
Ramadan is not only teaching our children to fast.
It is teaching us how to guide them.
Are we modelling patience when we are tired?
Are we speaking gently when the day feels long?
Are we celebrating effort, not comparing achievements?
Our children are watching how we fast.
Not just if we fast.
So this week, let us:
• Encourage without pressure
• Praise effort over perfection
• Create a calm home at iftar
• Make du’a together
Because fasting is not built in one Ramadan.
It is shaped through moments, conversations, and mercy.
Ramadan teaches children that fasting is not about being the strongest — it is about being sincere.
Every small effort counts. Every intention matters.
And the way we guide them today will shape how they love Ramadan tomorrow.
Little bodies practising restraint.
Little hearts growing in iman.
